Ello ello from the South!!

October 10th, 2008 · No Comments · Uncategorized

I have emigrated…to Brighton and to the sea boink boink.  This is where I am going to set up home for the time being which leaves me sad to say goodbye to leave the wondrous land of the castle and all things NORD…it has been a pleasure and the beginnings of my own music playing career. Firstly thank you to all and everyone in Newcastle, Mr Wilson mostly for getting my sorry bottom to actually play live and keep playing and letting other people actually here my music…in the same room…facing me…sober.

So onwards and southwards, Brighton beckoned and here I am on my first day of school. I have decided to study music production at Brighton and get myself educated so that I can create lots of new music and sounds and wondrous songs or something.  I am planning to get a wriggle on with playing out in Brighton as soon as possible and will let any southern folk know when this will be..or any travelling northern folk on tour.if your interested!  I am also planning a return to the castle at some point to play where it all began..memories….

Thank you again to every ones support up north, I am a grateful grapefruit. I hope you are all keeping wrapped up in this blistering Indian summer we are having…

Over and out…

FIONA SALLY MILLER
Demos EP

By Andy Betts

Imagine, if you will, the season finale montage of your favourite teen drama. You know the one, fade in after fade in of break-ups, make-ups, deaths and closure to an emotionally touching backing track. You with me?
Then you’re half way to the sound of Sussex born Fiona Sally Miller. Not to be misconstrued with a degrading metaphor, the comparison comes from her poignantly effortless approach to songwriting, combined with a delivery best suited to such a situation. With only piano chords and acoustic guitar as a backdrop to thick accented and unusually powerful vocals, I would be reluctant to associate her talent with artists of the same en vogue styling. On the other hand, with a debut album due for early 2009, I predict it won’t be long until you can judge for yourself.

Brand new FSM Video!

May 29th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

Were delighted to present the brand new video for Fiona’s track ‘Im Gonna Miss Your Smiling At Me Like That’. Directed by video maverick Mat Fleming, it’s cross processed super 8 (64t). That’s reversal (slide) film developed as negative which gives it a delicious grainy quality.

Thats right folks - you can now buy Fiona’s stunning new demo online at www.supa-market.com, for the very reasonable price of just £5.50 (inc. P + P).

Limited to just 100 pieces (only 50 available for sale), each one is lovingly hand made and designed by Supanaught, with a fantastic fold out cover, and will not only be highly desireable for the music therein, but also as works of art (like everything Fiona does), and future collectables (probably worth thousands of pounds oh yeah!).
